Question compiling kannel

Me again,

I am running Kannel on Redhat 7.0. When I run configure it complains that
my libxml is too old and I need to upgrade to at least 2.2.0. I have looked
at the
xmlsoft.org website and I cant find any libxml library newer that 1.8.9. My
libxml2 library is 2.4.5. Is there a bug in the configure script? I modified
the script
to work with my current libraries but I run into problems when it gets to
compiling
some of the wml stuff.

Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
