So far my understanding goes , kannel does not work with Nokia 3310 directly connected to serial port. Nokia 3310 does not act as GSM modem. My application talks to Kannel properly . Kannel is not able to send sms directly through Nokia 3310. So I was trying to use gnokii as an interface which will talk nokia 3310. Any other method whcih I can adopt ?

But why go through the trouble of making Kannel work with Gnokii when Gnokii by itself can send and receive SMS already? Anyway, I looked at Gnokii again. Kannel will NEVER work with gnokii because gnokii is not accepting all GSM-Modem AT command set. As far as I can tell from looking at the code, what it can only do is connect with another dial-up modem. That's it. No GSM-Modem functionalities at all.
