Ive never tried it myself on a real production environment, but as noted on the documentation:

"Hardware requirements are fluffier. We haven't benchmarked Kannel yet, so there are no hard numbers, but a reasonably fast PC workstation (400 MHz Pentium II, 128 MB RAM) should serve several concurrent users or tens of SMS messages per second without problems."

BTW, I think a 400 Mhz Pentium II, 128 MB RAM is not "a reasonably fast PC workstation" any longer :)

Subject: REF:- Bulk SMS

Hi,

Sorry this is slightly off post.

I have a client who is looking at Kannel to use for Bulk SMS sending.

THey have a direct connection to the operators using SMPP. I am aware that Kannel can do this.

However what volume of messages per second can reasonable be expected from Kannel. Has any one got any figures for their cofiguration. I am convinced Kannel is the way to go but questions about throughput keep arising.

Any advice greatfully received

Steve
