Please one more issue, while trying to send from my mobile to kannel using this client configuration as below, I receive the below error;

Why is failing? Set the DLR-MASK to 24 and kannel just echos back to the DLR-URL if the message was ACK or NACK. But this only indicates if the message was stored by the smsc you are connected to. If you really want to know if it was delivered, set the full DLR-mask.
