I tried with %2B, without, with a local number (without %2B1) and the
the same results.
I saw some people using

init-string = AT+CGDCONT=2,"IP","ISP.CINGULAR"

you told me to use

init-string = AT+CNMI=2,1,2,0,0;AT+CMEE=1

Is there a way somehow to combine both strings since you said CMEE is
the modem error verbosity.

Since the modem works on XP, I assumed it "could" also work with a linux
setup

Would using another modem possibly solve this issue ? and what is the
most well know modem I could use for that ?
