The AT+CNMI init string varies wildly from device to device. You'll probably need to change the init string according to your device's requirement. Sadly, there's not a once-fits-all init string and you'll need to find your phone's technical documentation in order to be able to create the proper init string for it (have you tried googling around for it?). BTW, if you do so, please share it over the list so others can benefit from your findings.
