I had a little trouble with this. I think it was because /boot + /
added up to over 1 TB. After fumbling around, I got /boot down by
1 GB. That did it, though 1/2 GB is wasted. No big deal.

order, the last one would have used the rest of the space
automatically.
No. I did it as you suggested. I did not see any option to use the
rest of the space on that device. The space shown was rounded, which
might have been a part of the problem.
I don't understand what you mean about /boot and / adding up. There
were only supposed to be two partitions. /boot/efi and then creating
/ would take the rest automatically.
Sorry. That was /boot/efi + / (what you called "root").
It looks correct in the gnome disks utility.
You can use the live USB boot and gparted to resize the partition to
fill the rest of the space if you want.

No, you need to run gparted from the live boot. You'll have to
install it and it will only exist until you reboot.
