    Edit the grub entry to remove "quiet rhgb", then see what the last
    messages are when it gets stuck.

Will do, if you tell me how to get into the GRUB entry editor to make that change, or any other change. Thank you for your quick response thus far.

If you don't see the grub menu at boot, then repeatedly press a key (not enter) before the boot starts. Then go to the line you want to boot, most likely the first one. Press "e", then you can edit the entry. This only applies to the current boot, which is what you want right now.
