Enter "help" to get a list of commands, but from your description, it seems that grub2 is working -- the problem is getting graphics to work. Messing with grub is likely to create new problems. Do you have a way to get a text console, boot the Live USB Installer, or use ssh from another system. Any of those should let you view the journal entries from a boot that failed to reach graphics mode. You may need to read up on journalctl -- it collects massive amounts of data so you need to isolate entries relevant to your problem. -- George N.
