The install was going along well.

All software install.  Lots of files rsynced from the old drive to the new (via USB adapter).

And then things stopped.

Power cycled and got into the startup.  Pressed <alt-D> to follow the steps.

And there was an block I/O error around 5425280 (1TB SSD drive). This is somewhere around 85Gb installed in the main partition (I just did a default drive setup).

So it looks like I get a bad drive?

If I am quick I can order another one and get it Sunday to install in time for the Monday conference.

ARGH!!!

First time I had a bad SSD drive out of the box.

From amazon:

I am going to return it and get something else.
