Pulled the bad drive from the x260.  put it in a USB adapter to look it on
my F41 X140e system.

gparted reports error on partitions 1&3.
1 is EFI system partition.
3 is the /root partition.

hosed drive.
No, it's not. It's working as designed. It's an SSD. All SSDs have a built-
in suicide clock. Yours' just rang early.

Just as something to check. Had an electronic instructor friend
many years ago had an issue. Figured it was a bad cable to drive,
so ordered a new one, but didn't fix problem, so he sent computer
to shop. Got it back, and was informed it was a bad cable. The new
one he got was defective. Don't know what connection your drive is
using, but might want to check cable and connectors on both ends.

The 256GB SSD card with Win11 was working just fine.

New drive and F44 install then copying lots of files from F41 system's 1TB drive via USB adapter and rsync.

That does not sound like a cable problem.

Plus when I pulled the drive, I could see the OM tape over the drive likely indicating the prior owner used that drive and cable.

New drive, new install, copy lots of files.  Drive fails.

Well new drive showed up and we will see how it goes tomorrow morning.  Not going to start things tonight.
