Correct. "Wear leveling" is the buzzword here. As far as the OS is concerned it's writing to the same sector #n, but internally the drive spreads the writes around, it maintains an internal map of physical versus logical sector. The conclusion is still the same: every SSD in existence has an internal suicide clock that will tick, it's not a question of if, but when. The drive's internal firmware does a lot of work to make sure that the clock keeps ticking, reliably.
