Maybe. But Sybase and Microsoft both have command-line isql utilities that use "go" to send the buffer to the server. They don't require ';' between SQL statements. I never understood why SQL needs line terminators anyway. There is also sqsh (as in SQL Shell, www.sqsh.org). It talks to Sybase and Microsoft, and accepts "go" or "\go", not to mention a host of other cool things.
