SO I DID get roundcubemail down and on the server and did the mysql

reports that I need:

      Checking PHP extensions

The following modules/extensions are /required/ to run Roundcube:

DOM: NOT OK(See http://www.php.net/manual/en/book.dom.php)

This, as it says, is required. I looked around with 'yum provides', but
lots of rpms have */dom in them. What do I get for this?

Then there is:

The next couple of extensions are /optional/ and recommended to get the
best performance:

Mcrypt: NOT AVAILABLE(See http://www.php.net/manual/en/book.mcrypt.php)
Intl: NOT AVAILABLE(See http://www.php.net/manual/en/book.intl.php)

If you have installed the epel repository configuration, mcrypt can be had by:

yum install mcrypt libmcrypt

I'm not 100% sure about the others, but off the top of my head you might want to try:

yum install php-xml php-mbstring
