Neither php-extensions nor php-intl are in my RC setup
(I pasted the list of all PHP packages on my RC web server),
so they must also be optional.

I'm not entirely convinced that is accurate. This is a list of all the
PHP packages installed on my Roundcube server:
Careless me; I did not restart httpd. This took care of the php.ini
messages and now the only thing reported missing is mcrypt. I was told
on the Roundcube list this would be php-mcrypt which is not available:
