Hi all, sorry for the delay.
1. Re: bouncing CPUs - if I start a load on just 1 CPU, e.g. with
"md5sum /dev/zero", CPU2 and CPU3 are activated and they stay up as long
as that load is there. They seem to get activated depending on the load
of the box; this is definitely not the case with Fedora (they stay up
all the time) so I will have a look at the modules as you suggest
Gordon. Doesn't seem to be a real problem though, apart from the
irritating error messages - RSEL can use all 4 CPUs if it needs to.
Makes "top" confusing though :-)
There is most likely a setting either on a kernel module or someting you
can cat to a file somewhere in /sys or /proc that disables CPU shutdowns.
Gordon - how do I create the WIki page - or do you have to do it?
I have created a wiki account for you. You should be receiving an
activation email shortly.
