From what I understood they are actually wondering if you are interested
in pulling their SPEC from ELRepo into Extras instead of maintaining
your own package.

Not sure if that makes sense, as we don't produce RHEL4 packages it has no support for it (anymore). What I think is essential is that we track each other's changes. But for that we need a public versioning system.
