You might not get very many answers here.
Most of us have never used Maven 1 and many of us are on Maven 3.
You should move to the latest version if you expect any support from the
general community.
It is a pretty active community but nothing on Maven 1.
You may find some senior consultants who still remember Maven 1.
Upgrading is probably worth the effort for lots of reasons.
