I won't claim to be a Plexus expert. In the plugins I have developed,
I have used expression with no default-value and default-value with no
expression, depending on what I am looking to do with a particular
parameter. The expressions do not necessarily involve system
properties but rather simply pom configuration elements.
I'm simply suggesting that you try adding
expression="${ingestorContainerBinaryDirectory}" in the proper place
and see if that resolves the issue. If so, you know the documentation
is either wrong, incomplete, out of date, or you've stumbled across
some bug. At that point, you can decide how best to proceed.
