Thanks for your response. I followed your advise and did a search on Nabble. The search pulled up a couple of threads on Maven release plugin but none for Maven SCM plugin being applied to Clearcase.
I am also wondering if the <scm:tag> has been implemented for Clearcase since its only a partially implemented SCM system as explained here. http://maven.apache.org/scm/scms-overview.html Any final thoughts before I go ahead and try it out with my pom file? I don't have clearcase locally nor do I have access to it, so I have no idea (personally) what functionality might be available wrt it. For various reasons, it seems like not many people are using Clearcase, so functionality is probably lacking in this area. If this is something you'd like to work on, I'm certain you would find many happy Maven+Clearcase users that would benefit from your efforts.
