Unfortunately, it doesn't stream it properly - I'd suggest you file an
issue under http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MDEPLOY
There is no size limit other than it gets loaded into memory - you can
increase the memory you give to Maven with MAVEN_OPTS=-Xmx256m for
example.
