Yes, I know I am part of the community, and yes, I have spent my "free time" in colaborating with several open source projects and creating some little patches to Trinidad. I know about open source and I know about community that supports it, and you are right, time is finite and all of we have lots of things to do. 1.0 it's not a good example, you're right.
