Hi Cathy,

Just as a friendly note to try to help you understand what's going on here.

Apache OpenOffice is not made by any company -- Apache is a non-profit
community of individual software developers, each giving you free use of
their work. As a consequence there's no company for you to be angry with,
no support staff to respond to your complaints; just a dozen or so software
developers doing their best in their spare time and many more volunteers in
other activities trying to make the documentation, translations and website
better. They are all doing their best, but they are not being rewarded in
any way for making any of it available to you.

You will also want to understand that the e-mail address to which you are
sending your messages to is a public mailing list (archives at the link [1]
below) which is read, and answered, by hundreds of ordinary users of Apache
OpenOffice just like you -- not just in Alabama, but all over the world. We
are all very sorry if individual replies are rude to you, but we would be
grateful if you would not be rude to us for trying to help you.

Each of your messages is permanently visible to everyone on the Internet
(policy at [2]). You may want to take that into account in future messages.

Best regards,

Simon
(Volunteer mailing list moderator)
