The Apache OpenOffice project does not offer an e-mail client. One well-known open-source e-mail client is Thunderbird (https://www.thunderbird.net/) and there are others (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_email_clients).

Subject: Email software

Hi,

I'm just wondering if Open Office offers a stand-alone email program that
can replace older versions of Outlook.

Thank you!

Jodi

The more recent versions of thunderbird were made to be unsafe, and are designed to be a threat to users' computers and security.

One possibility that just occurred to me, that people who want a cross-platform suite, might want to consider, is SeaMonkey.

I have just checked, and SeaMonkey has the same inbuilt insecurity for incoming email, as thunderbird, so, I also recommend against using SeaMonkey for incoming email.
