You will probably have to give a little more info.. What version of OOo are you using - I'm guessing that your on Linux (distro and version required)...
My first guess would be to disable the 'auto create backup' in the tools>options to see if that works. You may also pay to double check the 'backup path' to ensure that this is still valid.
