for my HP Deskjet 880C printer and now Mozilla Firefox will print directly but
Openoffice won't. OO will print to a file and doing
lpr somefile.ps
in the command line of an xterm prints somefile OK. Entering the print configuration utility by entering ./spadmin shows that OO uses
lpr
as the command, whereas Mozilla has
lpr ${MOZ_PRINTER_NAME:+'-P'}${MOZ_PRINTER_NAME}but despite reading man lpr and man lp and checking out gtklp, I can't find what to put after lpr in the command line in OO. Is there a string that is general and means "print the file on the screen" or would the string be particular to the application? Is it something simple?
Also using OO to print to a file, then printing the resulting file using lpr or gtklp gives a black and white output, even when colour is specified in the printer setup.
I am running Debian 2.6.10.
