Open Office is a very good word processor but I don't want it to be the default one. How can I get my PC to its original status so that when I click on a text document's icon the document is displayed in Word Pad?
Well... it's not as easy as it sounds. There's nothing like a text document, or at least not as easy.
There are a couple of different "text documents" and not all programs can open all of them. But what you're probably asking is to open "Word" documents (those that end in .doc) in Wordpad as deault. Right-click on one of this documents, select "Open With", a window will pop up, select Wordpad and tick "open always with...". Afterwards, when you double click in this kind of file it will be always opened in Wordpad.
