Yes, of course there's prior art. In a just world, if Microsoft even tried to enforce this blatantly improper patent, they'd be liable to prosecution, and their lawyers to disbarment for barratry and abuse of process. But Microsoft has enough cash reserves to litigate anyone (except, perhaps, IBM) into bankruptcy, not to mention their adorable little trick (now being emulated by SCO) of misbehaving in court until the judge loses his temper and then whining about judicial bias.
