Hi Naomi, With respect to your message, infra: I confess ignorance with respect to Win98 or greater, but if one is VERY careful and persistent MSIE can be removed from a Win95 installation--at least to the extent that it never bothers you again.
The process was for me one of trial-and-error, and required about 2 years of effort to effect its removal; however, there remain a couple of lost DLLs that prevent me from using certain software since those DLLs are called by said software-- a small price to pay in my humble opinion. In any event, this was the reason I mentioned the note originally. Nonetheless, I very much appreciate your input. Thank you, Jim On Tue, 26 Apr 2005 15:30:41 +1000, "Naomi Kramer" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> said: > Hi Jim, > I'm sure others will be able to answer you more fully, but in the > meantime - something that I noticed you wrote was - > > >(III) > > > >Microsoft Internet Explorer no longer resides on my computer, just in > >case your installation application is dependent upon this software > >by some strange quirk > > > > > Could be that I'm thinking Windows 98 and above, but is it actually > possible to remove IE from a Windows installation without fubar'ing your > Windows install?
