I'd like to be able to use OpenOffice but the only English version listed
on
your download page is a US one. Is a UK English version available, please?

Many thanks,

Alison Hoskins (Mrs)

Alison, a UK English version of OOo 3.0 RC1 is, in fact, available from the
Tübingen (http://preview.tinyurl.com/5uydq6) and other mirrors. In the event
you'd like to try it on a Windows machine, click the link above and then
scroll down to and click «
ftp://ftp.rz.tu-bs.de/pub/mirror/OpenOffice.org/extended/3.0.0rc1/OOo_3.0.0rc1_20080904_Win32Intel_langpack_en-GB.exe».
You will then be asked to choose between saving the .exe file on your
machine or installing it directly....

Henri,

a) The OP is not subscribed so won't have seen your reply. Frankly I think that's no bad thing. I may now be doing the OP a severe injustice and I apologise unreservedly to her if this turns out to be true but I get the distinct impression the OP is a newbie to OOo and not very experienced with computers. Given that
b) I very much doubt the OP wants a non-commercial version of OOo.
c) The ftp site you pointed her at gives a list of 659 files. One of them, right down near the bottom, looks like it might be what the OP wants but I for one don't consider it adequate support to point a newbie at that list, parsing someone's idea of meaningful file names, and let them hunt through it trying to guess at what she might be looking for.
