I was running open office 2.3 before updating to OS 10.5.5 .
X11 would open in the dock, open office would then open in the dock. after a while open office would time out. If I clicked "ok" java would twice open temporarily on the dock and open office would appear on my computer screen.
Now X11 opens on the dock. open office opens on the dock, times out and after clicking "ok", java does not appear and an hour glass replaces the pointer on the screen.
Mac help suggested I update Open Office, so I downloaded version 2.4 and the same sequence I just described happens when I try to open it.
