I read Dan Klinglesmith's answer, and went to this page:

I downloaded this file. Is this right?
OOo_3.0.0rc2_MacOSXIntel_SDK_install_en-US.dmg
Wrong file. Dan said "The US English version is the only one with no a
language designation". The file you downloaded has a US English language
designation (_en-US).
I've put a link to download the file you want so you won't have to
decipher any instructions.
