Also, in this day & age, such a thing is trivial.  For example I use
Seamonkey.  In Seamonkey, you can set up filters based on things such as
the sender's email address.  One of the actions possible, is to send a
message (not necessarily a reply) in response.  With such a filter, as
soon as a message from a certain person hits my in box, a message can be
sent, that tells the list to unsubscribe that person.  It certainly
would be possible to do this in a relay fashion, via another account, so
that the unsubscribe message does not appear to come from a list member.
