Tools; Options; click the + sign at OpenOffice.org Writer to drop down the list. Cick/select Formatting Aids, new data shows in right side pane. Right hand column: Notice 'Direct cursor' heading. Tick "Direct Cursor" I have 'Tabs and spaces' ticked right now but your preference may be different. Experiment, try the Help button if you wish. Note there is also a "Curor in protected areas" box you can tick. I have it ticked, you may not want it. Rather than try to explain, it's better IMO to tell you to read HELP and experiment. Explaining could take a LOT of words<g>. Any help there?
