Tools; Options; click the + sign at OpenOffice.org Writer to drop down
the list.
I got a private mail from Brian Barker that set me straight - the
Writer section is not present unless a Writer document is open. I
could grumble about the disappearing preferences making things
unnecessarily difficult on the user, but that's a topic for another day!
