How do I suppress the page number (in the footer) of a page so that it won't appear on the page when it will be printed?

[...] Or perhaps you mean that you want to suppress it for a single page only? (I'm having to do a lot of guessing here!) If so, you need to have a different page style (either with no footer or with a footer not containing a Page Number field) for that page - different from that used for other pages.

Sorry for not being more specific. I am talking about the Writer, and I do want to suppress it in a single page of the document, so it won't appear, while still being there (i.e. if, say, I want to suppress the appearance of page number 12, I still want the next page to be page number 13). So how do I remove the footer of page 12 only?

Just as I said above. (How could you miss it?)

o Go to Format | Styles and Formatting (or click the Styles and Formatting button in the Formatting toolbar, or press F11).
o In the Styles and Formatting window, click the Page Styles button.
o With the cursor into one of your normal pages, click the button at the extreme right ("New Style from Selection") and select "New Style from Selection" from the drop-down menu. o Give your new style a name ("No page number"?). You have created a copy of your existing page style (Default?) with a new name. o If you prefer to remove the footer completely from your rogue page, right-click the new style name in the Styles and Formatting window, and then Modify... | Footer. Remove the tick from "Footer on". o At the end of the text on page 11, go to Insert | Manual Break... Select "Page break", and select your new page style from the drop-down menu under Style.

I am afraid that there is problem:

Page 11 ends with a table for which I have selected Table Format > Text Flow > [ν] Break (.) Page (.) After. Than, however, the With Page Style is unselectable...

If I choose (.) Before, than the With Page Style is selectable but the table moves down to a new page which is not what I want.

If I insert a Manual Break at the end of the table of page 11 (and before the footer), and then select the No page number page style that I created, the No page number page style is applied also to page 11 which is not what I want either.

If I insert the Manual Break etc. at the beginning of page 12 instead, then an extra blank page 12 is created and former page 12 becomes page 13, which is better but not as it should.

Of course, I can't insert a Manual Break after the footer.

How can I apply the new page style to page 12 only, without having to create a blank page between 11 and 12?

Also, instead of removing the footer from the No page number page style (which means that then I have to adjust the margins), how can I remove the page number field from the footer?

(So far I haven't considered any possible complications with page 13.)

Thanks,

Eustace
