Hi,

I installed all what I found in Openoffice.org and hebrew packages on
Ubuntu, I got to Options and Languages setup and I have a simple question:
How to write in hebrew with Openoffice as we do with Word ???
So we need to type a char (hebrew) and then the cursor jump *after* this
char (right to left) and so on, HOW TO DO ? (is it possible ?)
A last question why the hebrew packages don't carry hebrew font ?
Thanks in advance.
Sam.

Hello Sam,

I know quite some people use OpenOffice.org on a daily basis to write Hebrew
and other complex and Asian scripts. Did you look into the help of OOo. I
typed in 'Hebrew' and got responses for the use of OOo for Hebrew.
See also Languages with CTL in the Help file

Yes ! - I follow this help for the hebrew language to write right to left, but the cursor DON'T jump to the next char, it stay to the right margin as we want write in english but with the cursor on the right.

Did you look into Tools > Options > Language settings > Languages? You need
to set CTL (Complex Text Layout)

Sure ! - I changed setting again and again, set the Hebrew language, but the cursor move always like before...

See also the Hebrew OOo project: http://he.openoffice.org/

Yes I will do...

Others users of MS-Word don't have this kind of problem with hebrew.

Sam.
