"mowdown", I copied you off list (which I rarely do) in case you are not

When my computer crashed and I lost WORD andd MICROSOFT WORKS my repairman downloaded Open Office for me.
I am surprised that he did not install the software from the original
disks. If you paid for the software, you should be able to continue
using it. On the other hand, OpenOffice.org (OOo) is an excellent free
alternative if you are unable to use your original software.
Now I am having trouble using it. I make a spreadsheet to show my expenses for the year. I started a spreadsheet and recorded data for three months. Later I went back to enter three more months and I cannot put it any data in the cells. I don't know what I am doing that I Thank hcannot add 3 months data at one time. How can I do this? Also, I cannot send attachments
Based on your descriptions, I am not sure that I understand your
problem. I will restate what I think your problems might be.
Problem 1, the easy one. You state that you can not send attachments. I
assume that your email software refuses to send files now that OOo is
installed. I assume, instead, that you are able to send attachments, but
other people are not able to read your attachments. Is this correct? If
yes, then, when you save your documents, use
File -> Save As
To open the file save dialog. Underneath the file name, you can choose
the file type to use when saving the document. Choose a type that your
friends have (such as Excel or Word format).
Problem 2. You say that you can open a Calc document, but you can not
edit the document. Did I understand this correctly? I am not sure what
would cause that. Does the document indicate that you are opening it
"read-only"?
