Can anyone help me with basic problem with Open Office: How can I change the
FILE size of my picture. It was so easy in Normal MICROSOFT OFFICE, but here
I cannot find a place to do it?! Where is it?! I dont want to edit every
picture I have again to make them smaller. I have for example Picture file
that is 7MG in size, I want to resize it to 0,3MG that is ok for Text file.
How can I do this?! If I dont do that the file size of Documet is huge!!!

So far as I understand neither OOo nor Microsoft Office have picture
editing software. Maybe I am misunderstanding your question. Please
tell me which application in MS Office you use to resize pictures, and
I will try to translate that to OOo terms.

The only thing I found in MS Office for pictures was in Office Tools - It is a Picture Manager, but I cannot see any way to edit pictures. Does MS open Paint or some other XP/Vista image program? I do not remember. I use some very non-MS products to do all my image work. A 8(?) year old version of Paint Shop Pro ver 5, Paint.NET, GIMP and GIMPshop, and there are a few others I have tried. All free except the old Paint Shop Pro that I liked the software and price way back when. Now that software was bought out and the new company wants it to be a PhotoShop want-to-be with version X2 or X3 , not what is was.

So, since I/we do not know about an MS Office photo editing software,
you may have got into some other one that do not come with MS Office, or at least the version I have access to (up to Office 2003).

There is a way, as I see it, with OOo's DRAW but the end results, and the process, is not what you want to do. Draw's final output, as I see it, is pages, not individual photos. But I could be wrong, since I do not use DRAW very often.

So, try one of the free ones shown above. Either google them or go to

http://www.lungstrom.com/list/#thisedit (my free software list)

to find links to several of them. They all work, and some are easier than most, but to me they all work easier than using any MS Office part to do image editing.

if anyone has any free or open source software that they want to see on my free software list, them email me OFF THIS LIST at [email protected]. I am always looking for more good stuff to add to the list so everyone I know will know about it/them.
