I want to write some invoices with OOo writer, and use a template
with a predefined table. Unfortunately, when adding rows, OOo use
some default format. Ideally, OOo would inherit the format and
formula from the row above the inserted one.

- Copy row;
- Insert new one;
- Paste copied one over new ...
Might be faster than your route?

Hmm, not bad. Nice tip, although not that easy to cumunicate (teach) a secretary.. If only OOo would correct the references in the Sum formula. That's unfortunately a source of errors, especially when working under pressure (been there, done that, felt ashamed to call the customer, that the invoice is wrong..).

Thanks Cor,

Hello Pete,

Thank you for the feed-back.

The Sum formula... you're right. That works far more better in Calc than in Writer ... So another option:

- create the table/formula etc. in Calc;
- select and copy;
- paste it in a Writer-doc;
- now it becomes an object
 (default behaviour, see Past Special for other options)
- click outside and you can type in Writer
- click on the object once and you can change size/position
- bouble-click on the object and there is Calc:
  insert a row and the format stays, formula is updated ...

- You can also create an autotext of that particular object, so that it can easily be used in more documents.

Kind regards,

Cor
