Actually since PDF creation in Windows is usually considered a feature that costs money, OOo's export to PDF is a quite nifty feature ... at least for Windows people in businesses who would otherwise need to purchase acrobat. They are just not aware of free PDF creators. Not sure in the newest MSO version though.
