Only responding to one post.
I don't know about tally9 but if it is that restrictive, then I would
just download the latest OOo and use that.
As for an alternative to MSOffice, I will say that in almost 8 years of
working in an MS based corporation, I have not needed MSOffice once. In
fact, I have used OOo to save peoples butts who's Word wouldn't open a
document that they were working on just 3 minutes before. So for me, it
is better than MSOffice.
