Yes, this is indeed wonderful. When I first used labels, I just followed
the dialog boxes and perhaps looked for a little help on google
regarding how to create labels automatically from a spread sheet (called
mail merge I believe). I was very impressed how it worked out, and that
was in version 2.4.1. The labels for a list of around hundred persons.
Would have taken days to get everything right while doing it one by one.

If your text has unicode characters in it which do not print properly
directly on the printer, then the best way is to create a PDF file first
and then print that PDF. However, the PDF reader may have an option that
scales the page it fit the paper (acrobat reader has it). In the labels'
case, that option must be off, otherwise there will be an error in the
margins on each label.

I have not done any mail merge since the early 1990's. So I have
not used modern software for it. I use to do it with dBase's
database reporting format and merging it into the documents. I
once used a spreadsheet output.

Now look at what we do now and the software we now have to do it.
OOo instead of the junk of the past.
