Thanks for your speedy reply, NoOp ! this is what I see when I run «ls /opt/openoffice.org/basis3.1/help/sv» in a terminal default.css scalc.cfg schart.tree shared.db smath.db err.html scalc.db sdatabase.cfg shared.ht smath.ht highcontrast1.css scalc.ht sdatabase.db shared.jar smath.idxl highcontrast2.css scalc.idxl sdatabase.ht shared.key smath.jar highcontrastblack.css scalc.jar sdatabase.idxl shared.tree smath.key highcontrastwhite.css scalc.key sdatabase.jar simpress.cfg smath.tree sbasic.cfg scalc.tree sdatabase.key simpress.db swriter.cfg sbasic.db schart.cfg sdraw.cfg simpress.ht swriter.db sbasic.ht schart.db sdraw.db simpress.idxl swriter.ht sbasic.idxl schart.ht sdraw.ht simpress.jar swriter.idxl sbasic.jar schart.idxl sdraw.idxl simpress.key swriter.jar sbasic.key schart.jar sdraw.jar simpress.tree swriter.key sbasic.tree schart.key sdraw.key smath.cfg swriter.tree The same operation with «ls /opt/ooo-dev/basis3.2/help/en» gives a similar result : default.css scalc.cfg schart.tree shared.db smath.db err.html scalc.db sdatabase.cfg shared.ht smath.ht highcontrast1.css scalc.ht sdatabase.db shared.jar smath.idxl highcontrast2.css scalc.idxl sdatabase.ht shared.key smath.jar highcontrastblack.css scalc.jar sdatabase.idxl shared.tree smath.key highcontrastwhite.css scalc.key sdatabase.jar simpress.cfg smath.tree sbasic.cfg scalc.tree sdatabase.key simpress.db swriter.cfg sbasic.db schart.cfg sdraw.cfg simpress.ht swriter.db sbasic.ht schart.db sdraw.db simpress.idxl swriter.ht sbasic.idxl schart.ht sdraw.ht simpress.jar swriter.idxl sbasic.jar schart.idxl sdraw.idxl simpress.key swriter.jar sbasic.key schart.jar sdraw.jar simpress.tree swriter.key sbasic.tree schart.key sdraw.key smath.cfg swriter.tree which information is confirmed when I open the respective folders in my file manager. Would you suggest that despite the presence of these files/folders/packages, I try uninstalling and re-installing the OOo packages ? Or is there anything else I might be able to do to gain access to the help files ?... Henri
