How do I set it up so that when I open a document it defaults to opening it at the place I last worked on - i.e. the end of the document?

My version (3.1 for Windows) appears to do what you ask.

Some workarounds:
o If you want to move to the end of a document, just press Ctrl+End.
o If you are working elsewhere than at the end of a document, you could create a bookmark where you are (Insert | Bookmark...) and then move to this when you reopen the document.

I trust this helps.

Thanks Brian

I will try your suggested workaround.

Any suggestions regarding the interruption to work when auto-saving in the background?

Cheers
