Yes, Tim, there are other versions. If you load the OOo home page, click the «Download» button, and then take «Get more platforms, languages, ...» you'll see what is offered (for Ubuntu you'd download a Linux Debian version). But there's precious little to gain by doing so, so I suggest you stick with the Ubuntu version, at least for the present.... Henri
