Also, in the Options tab for the Sort dialog box there is a choice to
"Enable natural sort." I don't know what that means, and the Help file
says nothing about it. Does anyone know what this option does?
natural sorting...ah, well there is a subject.
There is the alphabet and there there is ASCII...but nothing works
like an example.
Enter the following values in a column
a1
a100
a31
a2
a10
Now sort those values - without Natural Sorting being enabled:
a1
a10
a100
a2
a31
That is the values sorted by ASCII...
Sort again but this time with "Enable Natural Sorting" ticked.
a1
a2
a10
a31
a100
That is Alphabetical..

OK, I give up. Where do you find "Enable Natural Sorting" as I seem
to have nothing of the sort. Not in TOOLS-OPTIONS nor in the
drop-down DATA-SORT window.
Using Win XP Pro and OOo v3.1.
