I do not understand precisely what you mean here. How does it start looking for the file under the old path?
Do you start File|New|Templates and Document ...?
So there must be some other place besides the Options where it maintains a record of the paths? What is it?
You can have a look in your user data, either in \documents and settings\application data\ or in .opt/ then OpenOffice.org/3/user/template maybe there is something to find?
