a university machine on which he cannot install fonts.
You can try to export the PDF as hybrid. It's an option at the bottom
of the first tab in the pdf export dialog.
You can open hybrid PDF flawless in OpenOffice (in the same app that
you used to create them), and it will use the fonts embedded on the
PDF file just fine and without installation. I have only tried this
trick once, the pdf was generated on Ubuntu and read on Vista.
I didn't really expect it to work, but it did.

That's an interesting idea - would love to know if that actually works
for embedded fonts, my suspicion is that 'it will not'...BTW you are
referring to a feature that is only available after installing the PDF
Import extension, yes?
