So am I, since you have (sensibly) interspersed your words with mine
- but without differentiation. ;^) I've tried to unravel them.

Has anybody managed to import a Works 8 database into Base? I

O.K.; Should I also create a Table?
No. That will happen when you paste the material into the database.
Open your database in Works, copy the records, and paste them into
the Calc spreadsheet.
Done
Good.
Then immediately copy the material from the Calc spreadsheet.
Ah, you didn't say "Done" to that. Perhaps you missed that important bit?
In the Base database, click Tables in the left panel.
O.K.
Then right-click in the Tables area at the bottom of the window and
choose Paste.
Can't find a Paste ?
It's in the context menu - what you see when you right-click in the
Tables area. But if you didn't copy again from the Calc spreadsheet
you will be trying to paste directly what you copied from the Works
database, and you will indeed then not see any Paste in the context menu.
